Literary Herb Gardens with Margaux Drake at the EGR Library

Sign up for this free class on Sunday, March 11 at http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif2:00pm with Margaux Drake at the EGR Library.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of East Grand Rapids

Learn how to re- purpose all kinds of unique containers and make them into table top herb gardens! These scrumptious little container gardens may then be transplanted outside when warm weather arrives! A few lucky attendees will go home with a little garden of their own. All will go home with instructions and perhaps a kit.

“Margaux Drake is the WOTV 4 Women expert for healthy eats! This Certified Raw Food Chef owns, The M. Drake Company, an interior design, garden design and plant-based cuisine consultancy where she helps create ‘Heaven on Earth’ spaces for her diverse clientele.

“I get to spend each day feeding my true passion. Whether I’m on my hands and knees in the garden planting seeds or turning those seeds, when mature, into a tasty meal for my family I LOVE it,” Margaux said. “I am focused on creating a healthy Heaven on Earth-Home for my family. What’s not to like about that?!”

A graduate of The University of Michigan, she has over a decade of design experience. Her philanthropy, The Giving Gardens, allows her to play in gardens all over Michigan but she also loves to grow her own fruit, vegetables and herbs at home in her family’s organic kitchen garden. Margaux’s home, garden and recipes are featured regularly in newspapers, magazines, radio and on television. Margaux’s enthusiasm for healthy eats is contagious! Her daughter, at the age of 10, became one of the youngest certified raw food chefs in the country. In addition to her professional work her other passions include her role as a wife and mother of three, a vintage car enthusiast and as an ultra-marathoner and a triathlete.

Healthy food has been part of Margaux’s life for over twenty years and she’s excited to share her experiences with West Michigan women in a new way.

“From vegetarianism, to veganism; from having babies, to raising children; from Ironman races, to Ultra-marathons; from growing food, to harvesting seeds for the next season…I’ve developed many ideas, tips and techniques that will inspire West Michigan Women to live a healthier lifestyle and will give them reliable tools with which to build their own HEALTHY Heaven on Earth-Home.” WOTV4
